Our vocational school was established in 2015 as per the decision made during the General Assembly Meeting of the Higher Education Council dated 24.12.2015, in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547 amended by Law No. 2880. Within the Department of Property Protection and Security; Emergency and Disaster Management and Civil Defense and Firefighting programs have been opened.
The Emergency and Disaster Management Program started education in the 2017-2018 academic year with 60 students (1st Shift) and 60 students (2nd Shift), and the Civil Defense and Firefighting Program started in the 2018-2019 academic year with a quota of 40 students (1st Shift).
Our vocational school is located 1 km from the district center and provides education in our building with a total closed area of 7333 m², completed on the Altınyayla-Burdur road. As per the protocol dated 07/07/2008; the construction of the building on a 22000 m² area registered in the name of the Altınyayla Vocational School and Faculty Establishment and Sustenance Association was completed by philanthropist Mehmet Tuğrul. The educational building, constructed as three floors and three blocks, and the land have been transferred to Mehmet Akif Ersoy University.
Within the scope of the thematic restructuring efforts of the vocational schools under Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) according to their programs, the change of the name "Altınyayla Mehmet Tuğrul Vocational School" to "Altınyayla Mehmet Tuğrul Security Services Vocational School" in the annual plan of our University for the 2023-2024 academic year was reviewed at the Higher Education General Assembly meeting dated 09/05/2023 and deemed appropriate in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547 amended by Law No. 2880.
